Hello.

I’m Nancy Enloe and I make hand-printed home goods in friendly Raleigh NC.

My art is inspired by nature in city areas and the beauty of everyday plants in backyards. I particularly love the different types of oak trees in our “city of oaks,” which I noticed more during the 2020 lockdown when I had time to explore my neighborhood. You will find oak leaves and acorns in many of my printed fabrics.

Each hand-crafted product is designed, drawn, block-carved, and printed in my home studio. I love how the variances occurring naturally in the block-printing process contribute to the one-of-a-kind, rustic character of each piece.

About My Tea Towels

Soft, absorbent, sturdy, fresh, and a hanging loop. My tea towels will brighten your kitchen and they make a great gift any time of the year. I mainly print on 100% unbleached (natural) cotton fabric and sometimes I print on 100% white cotton. I love the natural look of the unbleached fabric and they wash and wear very well. I still like white for some of my designs and colors, so take note which towels are printed on white and which are unbleached.

About My Everyday Napkins

My napkins are 13” square and printed on 100% organic cotton. The fabric is prewashed, preshrunk, and gets a little softer with every washing. I’ve been using and washing these napkins for over a year and am pleased with how the ink settles into the fabric with very little fading. Also, very versatile — I like to mix and match them on the table, cover rising dough, tuck them into a bread basket, and wrap food and gifts for friends.

About My Table Runners

Most of my runners are printed on a single thickness of fabric with a mitered hem for a lightweight and polished look. The fabrics are all 100% cotton or linen. I’m partial to the look and quality of linen, but sometimes medium-weight cotton muslin or osnaburg cotton have just the right color and texture for a particular design and colorway. (Osnaburg is an old fashioned, sturdy. long-lasting fabric with a nice light drape — it’s the material a lot of reenactment costumes are made of.) All my runners are washable (cold water is best) and can take a low-heat drying cycle. The fabric gets softer with use, yet the colors hold up well. I think they look good freshly ironed, but I’m definitely not a stickler for pressed linens — I like the soft, pebbly, rustic look just as well.

My full-size runners are roughly 14 inches wide and range from 66-74 inches in length. Be sure and check out the mini-runners — typically about 12 inches wide and 36 inches long. They are very versatile and can really boost a tablescape. I can also custom print a runner in the length you prefer.

About My Note Cards

I’ve been selling note cards at markets for a while and, by customer request, I’m now offering them on my site. All original artwork, blank on the inside, with a brief message on the back side, these cards suit most occasions. I’m happy to also mix designs in an 8-pack by request.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much is shipping?

Charging for shipping is not a popular thing to do, but I try to maintain fair product prices, so shipping is a separate fee. And drat the USPS who keeps raising the cost of mailing… anyway Shipping is a flat rate of $5.00 and typically via USPS. Sometimes I’ll use UPS if the price or delivery time looks better. .

What’s a linocut block print?

Linocut is a block-printing technique where the design is hand carved into a linoleum block. The block is carefully inked with a brayer and then pressed onto paper or fabric to make the print. Multiple prints are typically pulled from one lino block but because the entire process is done by hand, each print (or linocut) has its own unique characteristics. Block printing has a somewhat textured look. Most of my items are block printed.

What’s a screen print?

With screen printing, a design template is affixed to a fine mesh screen. The template blocks out areas where you don’t want the ink to be applied. A squeegee is used to press the ink through the screen onto paper or fabric. Screen-printed items generally have a smoother, less textured look than block-printed items.
